the Puspa (Schima Walichii) is common trees
in West-Java’s rainforest and often conspicuous
by its reddish flush that at times colours the
whole forest canopy. at the attitude of between
Domas crater and Ratu crater (active crater on
the mountain of Tangkuban Perahu), one enters
the sub-alpine. this forest has only one stratum
of smallish trees and two ground layer.

due to their better resistance against crater gases, the
Cantigi (Vaccinium Varingiaefolium), habitat
dominated by the main crater of these mountains.
one of the characteristic plants of the top areas of
Java’s mountain. the Cantigi is testament to the
surprising fact that many of the region’s high altitude
plants have a close affinity with those of the northern
hemisphere.

i think, Cantigi and Puspa is nice combination habitat on the top areas of these
mountains. it’s great landscape of flora, and one of unique specification in
sub-alpine vegetation, attitude at above 2200 metres from the sea line. These
plant used the cooler conditions of the eurasian mountain chains to spread
south-eastwards.

two type plant, stand alone in the loneliness mountain. one forest, one air,
and one passion to living in one cooler conditions. dark red trees, green leaf,
a little purple flowers, dark orange bud and white misty mountain.
softly, one unity, very beautiful landscape…
